Marilyn Kallet directs the Creative Writing Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is the author of eight books, including "Sleeping With One Eye Open: Women Writers and the Art of Survival," co-edited with Judith Ortiz Cofer (University of Georgia Press, 1999).
