Maria Isabel Garcia is a free-lance environmental writer. She is the author of "Ecologia Filipina: the Almanac," a book of facts on the Philippine environment, and edited "The Governance of Ecology Struggles and Insights in Environmental Statesmanship" by Victor O. Ramos. She holds a master's degree in International Studies. She also lectures on various environmental topics for special groups in special wild places. She currently lives in Manila with her husband.
