Lanniko L. Lee lives in the Big Slough migratory pathway of north central South Dakota and commutes from Java, South Dakota to Fort Yates, North Dakota, where she teaches English and Humanities courses at Sitting Bull College. She is Lakota and an enrolled tribal member of the Cheyenne River Sioux. She has recently co-authored “Shaping Survival: Essays by Four American Indian Tribal Women,” published by Scarecrow Press, 2002.
