Jan Bailey was born in North Carolina and grew up in the foothills of South Carolina. Her poems have appeared in The Kenyon Review, Indiana Review, Prairie Schooner, The Louisville Review, and Ploughshares, among others. She is the author of “Paper Clothes,” “Emrys Poets Series” (Emrys Press, 1995), “Heart of the Other,” and “Island Poems” (Two Fish Press, 1998). Ms. Bailey lives year-round on Monhegan Island, Maine, where she leads summer workshops in poetry.
