Rabbi Everett Gendler

Everett Gendler studied at the University of Chicago, Columbia University, and was ordained as rabbi at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1957. After serving congregations in Mexico, Brazil, and Princeton, NJ, he was rabbi for 25 years to Temple Emanuel, Lowell, MA, and also Jewish Chaplain and Instructor in Philosophy and Religious Studies at Phillips Academy, Andover, MA, for 20 of those years. Long active in civil rights, peace, religious renewal, and environmental movements, Rabbi Gendler and his wife Mary have done extensive organic food growing on their acreage in Andover and now, post-retirement, in Great Barrington, MA.
