Author and editor of numerous books, poet and essayist Alison Hawthorne Deming seeks ecosystem equilibrium by living in both the Sonoran Desert and Atlantic Canada. She is currently a professor in creative writing at the University of Arizona. Her poem in Whole Terrain's volume 'Resilience', set on the coast of Maine, appears in a collection titled "Genius Loci" published by Penguin Press in 2005.
