The Research Assistant will work closely with Beth Kaplin 1) on specific research projects related to her ongoing research program in tropical ecology, conservation and protected areas management, including library research, data analysis, statistical support, graphics development, and manuscript writing and editing, and 2) to help develop and manage the materials needed for the successful launching of the tropical certificate (Tropical Ecology, Conservation and Sustainable Development Certificate or TECSD) at AUNE. Some grant proposal writing may also be necessary.
The research assistant needs to be a self-motivated individual with strong quantitative skills, a background in ecology and conservation biology, and an interest in tropical ecology and conservation. The assistant should have excellent writing skills and be comfortable finding and summarizing primary literature in the field of ecology and conservation science. I seek someone who is creative and highly organized to facilitate my research program and projects.
