We are looking for an individual who will help support the Center for Tropical Ecology & Conservation (CTEC) to work effectively to reach out and interact with the local, regional and international community. Responsibilities will include working to expand and strengthen the relationships that CTEC has with associates and affiliate organizations, including developing opportunities for student internships and collaborative research projects. The Outreach Coordinator maintains oversight of the informational material we present on our bulletin board, websites and social media sites, including publishing news items and research reports from student and faculty work. The Outreach Coordinator will seek ways to connect CTEC to the ES Dept, to the AUNE campus, to the Antioch University more broadly, and to the New England community interested in tropical ecology and conservation including high schools, local businesses, area non-profits, universities, etc. The Outreach Coordinator will manage the CTEC contact list and student membership to keep it updated, and will manage new student membership requests. The Outreach Coordinator has oversight of the Newsletter & Publications committee and will coordinate the publication of our bi-annual newsletter in collaboration with our Information Coordinator: edit, print and mail the newsletter to members. The Outreach Coordinator will also assist CTEC staff as needed to further the mission of CTEC.
Applicant must have excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to work independently, and be outgoing, confident and professional at interfacing with our affiliate organizations and our associate members. Should be comfortable managing spread sheets and data bases and have good writing skills. Very importantly, the Outreach Coordinator should have good writing and editing skills, and an interest in getting more experience in writing and editing.
