Parsons Creek Marsh in the Town of Rye, New Hampshire is suffering from a combination of man-made and natural events which have led to degradation of this tidal marsh system. Restoration activites to improve the marsh’s health were completed in the Spring of 1985. After removal of tidal restrictions, field research indicates an enhanced tidal flushing of the high marsh. Analysis of actions by town and state officials raises the question of the success of the Parsons Creek Marsh Project.
