Autism Spectrum Disorders

In coordination with our Department of Applied Psychology, we offer an MEd added to the Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. This program attracts classroom teachers, special educators, parents and nonschool-based educators of all types. Whether you want to be a better advocate for your child, provide support services for children on the spectrum or learn more about how to support these diverse learners in your classroom, this program can get you started.

Two delivery models available.

Students may choose between adding the MEd after completion of the ASD certificate or you may do both programs concurrently. The only difference is in the number of semesters of study required. The number of credits and course requirements are the same for both delivery models.

Add a Master’s of Education Degree to your ASD certificate

You can add the MEd in four additional semesters. This is a 33-credit degree program. In addition to your 12 credits of ASD course work, you will add the education courses found below under “Adding MEd to an ASD Certificate.”

Master’s of Education Degree concurrent with ASD Certificate

You may also enroll concurrently in the MEd and ASD certificate programs. This is a 33-credit, five-semester program. Students will begin in the summer preceding their ASD coursework and take the courses found below under “Concurrent Delivery Model.”
