Description:

Required of and restricted to CP II and SA/AC (CP) II students from December 4 - 21; others by written permission of the Program Director provided to the Registrar146s Office via FirstClass.

This course will familiarize students with clinically relevant research methods including surveys, experimental, quasi-experimental, and single case replication designs, clinical outcome, research and program evaluation. The research on empirically validated treatments will be examined. Students will present research or research designs supporting their approach to treatment and client outcome within a selected client population. In addition, this course will include an examination of the ACA/APA ethical guidelines for conducting research, and issues of diversity in research and evaluation. An overview of statistical concepts and terminology related to research methods will be included.
