Required of all CMHC and CMHC-SAAC students. (Not required for Fall 2010 CMHC I and CMHC-SAAC I students)
Restricted to CMHC III and CMHC-SAAC III students through July 22; open to CMHC II and CMHC-SAAC II students on July 23; open to all AP students on July 30.

This weekend course will focus on the mechanisms of action and clinical uses of psychotropic medications used in the treatment of affective disorders, psychotic disorders and anxiety disorders. The basic neurobiology underlying these disorders will be presented as part of the discussion of the therapeutic mechanisms of drug action. Also included are the mechanisms by which substances of abuse affect the body and the associated drugs used in the treatment of substance abuse disorders.
