Required of all CMHC and SA/AC students.
Restricted to CMHC III and SA/AC III students through July 21; open to CMHC II & SA/AC II students on July 22; open to all other AP students on July 28.
This weekend course will focus on the mechanisms of action and clinical uses of psychotropic medications used in the treatment of affective disorders, psychotic disorders and anxiety disorders. The basic neurobiology underlying these disorders will be presented as part of the discussion of the therapeutic mechanisms of drug action. Also included are the mechanisms by which substances of abuse affect the body and the associated drugs used in the treatment of substance abuse disorders.
