Description:

Competency Area: Systems & Strategic Thinking
Required of second year O&M Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 entering Weekend MBA students; others by written permission of Program Director provided to Registrar’s Office via Antioch email.

In this capstone course, students will draw on and apply knowledge and skills acquired to effectively diagnose challenges, determine options, and make decisions from the perspective of the chief executive or senior management team member. Students will develop a range of skills to solve organization-wide challenges including: managing IT resources, market competition, customer needs, retention and development of top talent, growth and expansion, creating effective strategies that will work and can be implemented, and development of an effective board of directors. Students will do additional readings and discussions in Sakai and online. Students should check the course site in Sakai for on-line assignments that may begin prior to the first class meeting and throughout the semester for ongoing projects and discussions.
