Description:

Competency: Finance & Economics
Prerequisite: OMFE 502 Finance I, or written permission of the program director provided to the Registrar’s Office via Antioch email. Required of first year O&M Summer entering Weekend MBA and Fall 2010 entering Accelerated MBA students; others by written permission of Program Director provided to Registrar’s Office via Antioch email.

This course provides students with a solid understanding of basic finance concepts including business organization and taxes, the global financial environment and time value techniques and applications. The course will then turn its focus to financial analysis and planning, capital budgeting, capital leveraging, and structures. Students will have the opportunity to assess short and long-term impact of financial decision-making by comparing and contrasting traditional and sustainable models. Students will complete business plan that was started in Finance I. Students will do additional readings and discussions in Sakai and online. Students should check the course site on Sakai for online assignments that will begin prior to the first class meeting.
