Competency Area: Leadership & Self Development
Prerequisite: OMD 620 Leadership and Management Theories and Applications

This course examines current leadership topics with an emphasis on ethical leadership. Drawing on the work of Ciulla, Kotter, and Kouzes & Posner we will explore leadership ethics, moral leadership, followership, what leaders really do, and the future of leadership. Possible additional topics include servant leadership, women and leadership, transformational and transparent leadership. Students will have an opportunity to choose a topic of particular interest to them to explore in greater depth. Through readings, course discussion, and presentations, students will learn conceptual frameworks within which to examine their personal and professional leadership practice.
