Description:

Competency Area: ASJS, CB, EE, SD & SDCC - Internship Required
Restricted to Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 ASJS, CB, EE, SD & SDCC students.

Students register for a total of two 3-credit Internships during their course of study; generally one 3-credit in the summer, and a second 3-credit in their final semester. Internships are REQUIRED for all Advocacy for Social Justice & Sustainability, Conservation Biology, Environmental Education, Self-Design, and Sustainable Development and Climate Change concentrations.
The Internship provides students with an opportunity to apply, in an organizational setting, what they are learning and to develop professional contacts within their fields of interest. While students are responsible for locating internships, faculty members are available to provide support and information as needed. All students are required to attend a scheduled INTERNSHIP ORIENTATION during their first semester.
Note: There are no seminars held during the summer semester, however there will be one required meeting at the end of the spring semester for those registering for an internship in the summer. The meeting date is April 7 or 8, 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
