Competency Areas: ASJS, CB, EE, SDCC, SDS – Internship, Required
Students register for a total of two 3-credit Internships during their course of study; generally one 3-credit in the summer, and a second 3-credit in their final semester. Internships are REQUIRED for all Advocacy for Social Justice & Sustainability, Conservation Biology, Environmental Education, Self-Design Studies, and Sustainable Development and Climate Change concentrations.
The Internship provides students with an opportunity to apply, in an organizational setting, what they are learning and to develop professional contacts within their fields of interest. While students are responsible for locating internships, faculty members are available to provide support and information as needed.
Note: There will be one required meeting during the spring term for those registering for a summer internship. There are no seminars held during the summer semester and students will present their internship to the class on a Saturday in the fall.
