Description:

Competency Area: CB, EAO, EE, Cert, IND & RMC – Required

A total of 8 Practicum credits are REQUIRED for all Conservation Biology, Environmental Education, Environmental Advocacy, Individualized and RMC majors. A total of 2 General Practicum credits are REQUIRED for Science Teacher Certification majors. It is strongly RECOMMENDED that students not register for Practicum until their third semester in the program. NOTE: Students must register for a minimum of one 4 credit practicum during their course of study. The Practicum provides students with an opportunity to apply, in an organizational setting, what they are learning and to develop professional contacts within their fields of interest. While students are responsible for locating practica, faculty are available to provide support and information as needed. All students are required to attend a scheduled PRACTICUM ORIENTATION during their first semester. Note: Seminars will not be held at the beginning and end of the summer semester. But there will be one required meeting at the end of the spring semester for those registering for a practicum in the summer. The meeting dates are May 1 and 2, 11:15-12:30; and you can choose to go to either the Thursday or Friday meeting.
