It is necessary for healthy development of the person, yet too often play is considered ?childish? and unimportant. This predominantly experiential course will explore the use of play and games in enriching the education experience. Whether used to develop group cohesiveness or to illustrate concepts or to have fun, a diverse repetoire of games serves the classroom and outdoor educator well. Participants will learn a wide array of traditional games, New Gmes, Project Adventure initiatives, Wide Games and other playgroup pastimes. We will also reflect on game structure and the techniques of leadership.
