Registration Instructions
Credit Limits
Fall 2010 entering Accelerated MBA students must register for all required courses for a minimum of 12 credits in the Spring I semester.
Summer 2010 entering Weekend MBA students must register for all required courses for a minimum of 9 credits in the Spring I semester.
Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 entering Weekend MBA students must register for all required courses for a minimum of 8 credits in the Spring II semester.
There are no elective credits required in the MBA program. Students wanting to add elective credits in another department would need permission in writing from the Program Director provided to the Registrar’s Office via Antioch email. Students may register for elective credits within the department.
Pre-Course Requirements
Many classes begin with pre-course assignments and/or online work prior to the first scheduled class meeting date found in the course description. Pre-class assignments are posted in their respective course sites in Sakai three to four weeks prior to the first scheduled meeting.
MBA Prerequisites
Prior to enrolling in Finance I and Ecological Economics students in the MBA in Sustainability (Green MBA) must be proficient in the following subject areas: use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, financial accounting, and microeconomics.
Excel Competency
Students can achieve competency in Excel through self-study or online coursework at their discretion. Recommended resources include:
- Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Complete Concepts and Techniques, by Shelly Cashman
- Mastering Excel by Jim Gip
- Microsoft Excel Basics: A One-Day Seminar
Financial Accounting Prerequisite
As a prerequisite to Finance I, all MBA students must have completed the financial accounting requirement prior to the start of this course. This requirement can be met by one of the options below:
- Completing OMFE 500 Introduction to Financial Accounting (Section A). The cost of this course is $200.
- If you have professional experience, you may take the final exam of OMFE 500 Introduction to Financial Accounting (Section T). The cost to take the exam is $50.
Microeconomics Prerequisite
As a prerequisite to Ecological Economics, all MBA students must have completed the introduction to economics requirement prior to the start of this course. This requirement can be met by one of the options below:
- Completing the OMFE 503 Introduction to Economics (Section A) course. The cost of this course is $200.
- If you have professional experience, you may take the final exam of OMFE 503 Introduction to Economics (Section T). The cost to take the exam is $50.
