Elementary/Early Childhood Teacher Certification and Waldorf Course Selection Instructions Spring 2012
Elementary/Early Childhood Teacher Certification
All Elementary/Early Childhood Teacher Certification students who entered in Fall 2011 are required to register for:- EDT 532 Conceptual Development (Section A or B)
- EDC 648 Early Childhood Education Pre-K-3rd (Section A) (Required for Early Childhood Students only)
- EDC 563 Math Methods - Elementary (Section A) or EDC 680 Reading/Literacy - Early Childhood (Section A) or EDC 555 Reading/Literacy - Elementary (Section A)
- EDP 598 School Law (Section A or B)
- EDP 590 Teaching Exceptional Children (Section A)
(Please note: Teaching Exceptional Children will also be offered in Summer 2012, and Integrated Learning students are encouraged to take it then) - ED 691 Internship, Elementary Education (Section A) or ED 692 Internship, Early Childhood Education (Section A) or ED 694 Internship, Science/Environmental Education (Section A)
- ED 697 Professional Practice Seminar (Sections A - D) (Required with any internship)
Note: Elementary Teacher certification students may register for a maximum of 14 credits during the spring semester. Students must request written permission of program director or designee to exceed 14 credits. This authorization is to be provided to the Registrar’s Office via Antioch email.
Waldorf Program
All Waldorf Certificate Students (year-round) who entered in Summer 2011 are required to register for:
- EDC 559A Waldorf Curriculum Preparation II - Grades 5-8 (Section A)
- EDP 630 Waldorf School Administration (Section A)
- ED 691 Internship, Elementary Education (Section W)
- ED 697 Professional Practice Seminar (Section D)
- EDNC 011 Handwork in the Waldorf School (Section A)
- EDNC 012 Sculptural Modeling (Section A)
- EDNC 013 Workshop on Waldorf Remedial Methods (Section A)
All Waldorf M.Ed. (year-round) without state certification students who entered in Summer 2011 are required to register for:
- EDC 559A Waldorf Curriculum Preparation II - Grades 5 - 8 (Section A)
- EDP 654 Waldorf Masters Project Research Preparation (online course)
- EDP 630 Waldorf School Administration (Section A)
- ED 691 Internship, Elementary Education (Section W)
- ED 697 Professional Practice Seminar (Section D) (Required with any internship)
- Electives (2 credits needed)
- EDNC 011 Handwork in the Waldorf School (Section A)

Waldorf M.Ed. students (summer sequence regular) who entered in Summer 2011 are required to register for:
- EDP 580 Action Research (Section A)
- ED 691 Internship, Elementary Education (Section S) or ED 693 Practicum (Section W)
Waldorf M.Ed. students (summer sequence advanced) who entered in Summer 2010 and who have not completed their Master’s Project are required to register for:
- ED 699C Master’s Project Continuation (Section A)
