Alumni Teacher Certification ProgramProgram Overview and EligibilityThe Teacher Certification Certificate Program was designed for graduates of Antioch University New England who wish to become certified as teachers. To be eligible for enrollment as a teaching certificate candidate, a student must have graduated from a department of Antioch University New England offering teacher certification—either the Department of Education or Department of Environmental Studies. Graduates interested in becoming certified as a principal are invited to explore our Principal Certification Post-Master's Certificate offered by the Department of Education at http://www.antiochne.edu/ed/exed/ss_schoolleadership.cfm. How to Apply to the Alumni Teacher Certification ProgramApplications may be downloaded. After a transcript analysis, an interview will be set up with a faculty member in the alumna/us department. If accepted into the certificate program upon the recommendation of the faculty, a program plan will be developed outlining the courses and internship/practica required to meet certification requirements. Application Deadlines
Alumni should complete the application process in time to be registered as continuing students for the following semester. Applications will be accepted after the above dates, but spaces in required classes cannot be guaranteed. Applications received after the second week of a semester will be considered for the following semester. *Certification candidates are strongly recommended to enter in the fall and require special permission to enter in spring or summer. TuitionCertification certificate students will be charged by the semester at the current student extended program rate, plus a comprehensive fee of $175 for each semester registered. The 2007-2008 tuition rates: 1—4 credits at $2,900; 5—7 credits at $4,400; 8 credits and above at the full time rates listed for the appropriate department. see Tuition & Fees. Certificate students will be considered matriculated students with all the attendant rights, privileges and responsibilities. Registration & PaymentAfter being accepted into the certification certificate program, a student will be sent registration materials for the following semester. Registration and payment deadlines will be included in the packet. Financial AidStudents registering for 4 or more credits are eligible to apply for student loans to cover tuition and living expenses. Financial aid applications must be completed and eligibility determined before the registration deadline in order for registration to be approved. | ||||
