Psychological Assessments
Psychological assessments typically combine individual interviews and testing to gather information about a person’s cognitive abilities, personality structure, as well as diagnosis and treatment needs. The amount of information and testing that goes into each individual’s assessment is guided by referral and diagnostic questions. Psychological Assessment and Diagnostic reports are completed in about six weeks from the last testing session.
Psychoeducational Assessments
We provide assessments of learning disabilities in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, and processing deficits such as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) and Nonverbal Learning Disability (NVLD). All of our learning disability and attention deficit test reports meet the documentation guidelines for accommodations on the following examination: ACT, SAT, GRE, and PRAXIS.
Our comprehensive test batteries include tests of cognitive abilities and functions, academic achievement, behavior and learning skills checklists, and a clinical interview. In appropriate cases, additional personality measures are included.
The interview and testing require 8-12 hours, which can be broken up into 2-4 sessions. Psychoeducational assessment reports are completed in about six weeks from the final session of testing. A typical test battery may consist of: a clinical interview, test of cognitive abilities, a standardized personality test and projective testing. The amount of information and testing that goes into each individual’s assessment is guided by referral and diagnostic questions.
