Psychotherapy Groups

An Interpersonal Group: Personal growth through interpersonal exchange

An Interpersonal Group will be starting on February 26th and continuing until April 29th. This type of a group promotes personal growth through interpersonal support and feedback. It can help someone to learn about and work on issues that many people struggle with - including relationship conflicts, feelings of social isolation or social anxiety, and many other problems which can be embedded in the way we view and interact with others. This group provides an opportunity for self-discovery and self-improvement.

Sometimes we find ourselves struggling in our relationships with others — family, friends, coworkers, partners or spouses. This group provides adults with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of themselves, and to develop skills to improve their relationships with others. This group addresses many areas, including:

  • Working through relationship anxieties and conflicts

This six-session program provides education and support, including information and skills helpful to parents and caretakers of children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (or who are suspected to have ADHD). Issues to be addressed include:

  • What is Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?
  • What are strategies to develop and maintain a good relationship with my child?
  • How do I cope with difficult behaviors?
  • What can I do to help my child in school and with school-work at home?

The group is designed for parents of children 12 and under who have been diagnosed with ADHD or have symptoms of ADHD.
