After spending countless hours volunteering at her child’s Montessori school, serving on its board, and even becoming headmaster for a year, Linda’s interest in education soon out-stripped her knowledge. “I got the sense that I was missing something, maybe I didn’t know enough.”

Admitting a lack of knowledge is often the mark of a true learner, and Linda’s recognition came after having six children, after medical school, after starting out as a nurse. So, with all of her children at home, she set out to learn educational administration.

“From the moment I first walked in, I was never disappointed. I had been through college, nursing school, med school, and with all my K-through-twelve exposure I had never had a learning experience like I had in my master’s program.”

“It was a real match for me, with its emphasis on shared learning experiences, building learning communities, and self-awareness. I’m now able to take on challenges with less stress, because the more I do, the more confident I become, and the better my track record becomes—it’s self-fulfilling.”
