Leading Citizen Scientists to Explore the Ashuelot Valley

David Moon is committed to the environment and passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. He leads citizen scientists to explore the Ashuelot Valley and gather data needed to help restore and protect the environment, he teaches college students about tropical forest ecology, and he works to promote environmental educators in New Hampshire and New England. As the executive director of Ashuelot Valley Environmental Observatory (AVEO), David has his hands in field studies programs and data collection for such projects as salamander crossings, water quality, invasive plants, and educational programs for kids. Before AVEO, David was the education director for Stonewall Farm in Keene, NH, a non-profit working farm and educational center whose mission is to connect people to the land and to the role of local agriculture in their lives.
