OD Consulting Skills
Goals:
- Understand the value of clear client/consultant roles in all phases of the OD consulting process and how to develop and maintain an effective working relationship.
- Integrate and develop consulting skills through in-class practice of all phases in the consulting process through the use of a simulation.
- Practice effective approaches for addressing the social-emotional aspects of change for both the client and consultant.
- Identify and address ethical issues that may arise in OD consulting.
- Identifying considerations particular to internal and external OD consulting.

This four day workshop builds on prior courses and provides learners the opportunity to integrate and further develop consulting skills through the use of simulations and case studies. You are introduced to different consulting models and perspectives to help you, and your clients, better understand when and where OD consulting is effective. The following phases will be covered:
- Entry/Contracting
- Identifying the Client
- Data Gathering/Discovery
- Feedback
- Visioning/Action Planning
- Intervention
- Assessment of Intervention Effectiveness/Refining and Recontracting
- Exit
We practice addressing the social-emotional aspects of change, and ways to help organizations effectively manage human and systems dynamics of organizational change. We address ethical issues that may arise and discuss concerns particular to internal and external OD consulting.
