OM students in class Students entering our graduate programs are motivated learners, ranging in age from 25 to 55. Although they come from a variety of work settings—business, education, and service—they have usually developed careers in smaller community-based, social advocacy, or human service organizations. Often they enter our programs to learn how to change themselves and their organizations. You will find a sampling of MS student professions here.

Most students are as interested in learning from each other as in learning from faculty. And, most share an appreciation of learning through experimentation and experience.

Our programs demand participation and interaction, and students are expected to assume responsibility for the direction of their learning. They find the community support and safety they need to examine themselves and experiment with new behaviors, discovering and developing the assets that form managers who can lead with their heads and their hearts. Students report that Antioch New England’s influence on their lives is both immediate and lasting.

Class sizes are carefully restricted. In addition to classwork, students engage in a faculty-supervised practicum, giving them another opportunity to incorporate theory into actual organizational life. Students are expected to have regular access to a computer and the Internet for class assignments, communication with faculty and administrators, and library and enrollment services.
