Career Development for O&M Students - Organization & Management - Antioch University New England
Career Development for O&M Students
The Department of Organization & Management offers assistance and provides opportunities for students to focus on career development and exploration as an integral part of their educational experience. This is helpful to students who want to advance in their current organization or field, as well as to students looking to develop a new career path. The Department helps students to reflect on and develop their careers in the following ways:
Professional Seminar
Students engage in discussion about the meaning of work and their own career goals. They discuss ways in which their learning in the O&M program can be applied on the job and reflect on the implications of what they are learning for their career paths.
Faculty Advisor
Each student has a faculty advisor who is available to provide consultation regarding career development.
Career Development Course
In this elective course, students are guided in developing a strategic approach to their careers. They consider past and present career choices, explore values, aspirations, and other factors critical to determining their futures, and create personal strategic plans.
Networking
Students have the opportunity to network with faculty, other students, and alumni.
Practicum
Students may choose to focus their practicum work specifically in the area of career development and exploration.
Alumni Career Services
Finishing students and graduates have access to a career counselor who provides one-on-one career counseling and consultation.
