2005 O&M Happenings
In Memoriam
Donna T. Verschueren, MEd ’03 (OM), former administrator of the O&M Portsmouth site, died of pancreatic cancer in October of 2005. Donna was raised in Whitney Point, New York, and received her BS from SUNY Oneonta. She served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines and worked in many fields including teaching, accounting, and college administration. She was a member of South Church in Portsmouth and sang in Voices of the Heart, an all-women’s choir.
Donna was a student of life, constantly expanding her wealth of ideas and interests. She was passionate about the arts, the outdoors, and international travel and experience, taking every opportunity to reach out to the international community. She was an extraordinary friend, a dedicated educator, and gifted humanitarian.
Donna was an exemplar of what it means to dedicate one’s life for the improvement of all. The department and Donna’s family are discussing how best to honor Donna’s work and spirit at Antioch and we will let you know when a memorial fund has been established. We will miss her very much.

Fall 2005 Alumni Gatherings
This past fall the O&M department had a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumni from the Burlington, VT, and Lebanon and Portsmouth, NH, areas. Three alumnae from these areas graciously hosted a gathering at their place of employment. Melissa Hersh hosted an event at the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce in Burlington, Vt. Susan Donnelly hosted another event at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. And Jane Holt offered her new business, Choosey Shooz as a site for an alumni gathering in Portsmouth, NH.
Steve Guerriero attended all three gatherings and enjoyed the chance to update alumni on new happenings in the department and to hear their feedback and ideas. Bill Griffith attended the Portsmouth Event along with Steve. The gatherings were small in size but allowed for some intimate and important conversations.
It is our hope to continue these gatherings in the future on a more regular basis at locations around the region so that more alumni have the opportunity to attend. If you are interested in hosting an event at your work place please contact Cheryl Lower.
