Chair’s Corner
There are a number of changes and initiatives currently underway in the department. In August, Steve Guerriero, Chair of the Department of Organization & Management, was asked to take the position of Interim Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs for the graduate school while a formal search for a permanent dean is launched. Steve’s service to Antioch New England, and in particular to the new president, David Caruso, has been invaluable. To accommodate this change, Steve asked me to become the Interim Associate Chair of the department and take on day-to-day leadership responsibilities. With the assistance of a strong faculty and unflappable staff, all is running smoothly, and we are having a great year. The Department is excited to be launching two new programs: a Masters of Business Administration in Organizational and Environmental Sustainability, otherwise known as the Green MBA, and a non-degree Organization Development (OD) Certificate Program. The Green MBA program will enter its first cohort of students in July 2007. It is a two year program that combines elements of the O&M curriculum, financial coursework expected in a MBA program, and a focus on the natural sciences. The Organization Development Certificate Program is a one-year curriculum, beginning in September 2007, geared toward those interested in both internal and external OD consulting. For more information on either program, please visit the web sites.
