Young Children and Their Care

Antioch to host panel discussion for parents and caregivers on October 16

Keene, NH -Antioch University New England president Dr. David Caruso will join child development and dance/movement therapy specialists for a panel discussion on caring for and communicating with very young children on October 16 at 7:00 in the evening.

Panelists will offer ideas for parents and caregivers on how to improve the quality of their care and how to understand the unspoken language of infants and toddlers. They will also explore child development and dance/movement therapy models that can improve both childcare and caregiver satisfaction. The program will address the widespread concern throughout the U.S. concerning the poor quality of day care facilities available to working parents and a number of other childcare topics. A question and answer period will follow the panel discussion.

Panelists include: Dr. David A. Caruso, president of Antioch University New England; Susan Weber, executive director Sophia's Hearth Family Center; Claire LeMessurier, coordinator of Children's Upstream Services; and Susan Loman, director of Antioch University New England's MA Program in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling.

This program is part of the Antioch University New England (AUNE) Fall Speakers Series and the ninth annual program for the John Knight Colloquium. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program of AUNE's Department of Applied Psychology sponsors the John Knight Colloquium in honor of the memory of John Knight, a beloved teacher and colleague. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. on October 16th in the community room of the Antioch University New England campus at 40 Avon Street in Keene.
