Antioch University New England Introduces New Accelerated Green MBA Degree

Summary - The new Antioch University New England (AUNE) accelerated MBA in Organizational and Environmental Sustainability (Green MBA) builds on the strengths of AUNE's highly ranked weekend delivery Green MBA program. The new program immerses students in an extraordinarily collaborative learning environment that focuses on sustainable business practices. Sixteen-month completion, practical experiences, and a hands-on internship are key program components.

March 9, 2009, Keene, NH - In response to student demand for programs that focus on sustainable business practices, Antioch University New England is launching an accelerated MBA in Organizational and Environmental Sustainability (Green MBA) degree option. This option provides recent undergrads and mid-career professionals with a fast-moving, sixteen-month master's program.

The new master's degree program option immerses students in an extraordinarily collaborative, MBA-based learning environment with weekday classes. Students further their understanding of sustainable business practices and gain management experience through internships, consulting projects, and field study trips.

The accelerated MBA builds on the strengths of AUNE's weekend delivery MBA which ranks in the top five in multiple categories among MBA programs nationwide, according to the San Francisco-based Net Impact, Business as Unusual: The 2008 Student Guide to Graduate Business Programs. Within the Net Impact rankings, Antioch University New England regularly topped student rankings from better-known MBA programs such as Yale School of Management, Babson University's F.W. Olin School of Business, The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University, and the Johnson School of Business Management at Cornell University.

Students of Antioch University New England's Green MBA programs learn what most will expect in an MBA program, plus the unexpected. The AUNE Green MBA curriculum considers not only sustainable business practices, economics, and finance, but also the natural environment, leadership, systems thinking, and collaboration. The programs prepare graduates for a variety of roles in for-profit, not-for-profit, public-sector organizations, and their own businesses while emphasizing organizational and environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Students can choose from weekend or accelerated options. The weekend option works best for those who need to fit getting their MBA in with a tight work schedule. Classes meet five intensive weekends (Friday through Sunday) per semester, and for one intensive week each summer. The accelerated option (16-month completion) works best for those without 9 to 5 responsibilities.

AUNE's Green MBA faculty hail from both the Departments of Organization & Management and Environmental Studies, and also include outside experts. They practice what they preach, not only at the graduate school, but through their work in organizations across the globe. These mentors, advisors, and professors share their experiences as leaders, activists, scientists, and consultants.

Admissions criteria for the program include successful completion of an undergraduate degree, GRE or GMAT results, and readiness to do graduate level work. Antioch University New England's Alternative Admissions Program, however enables students who have not completed a bachelor's degree and who meet certain criteria to apply to this MBA program.
