Faculty and Alumni of AUNE’s Educating for Sustainability Start New Blog and Facebook Site

Find the latest on teaching sustainable change at Antioch University New England

(Keene, NH) -- Teachers play a critical role in creating a sustainable world for future generations. To help create that world, the Educating for Sustainability (EFS) faculty in the Department of Education at Antioch University New England (AUNE) are launching a new Internet blog and Facebook site.

EFS faculty and alumni are writing for the projects, which include videos, links, curriculum resources and discussions about issues in teaching, learning and sustainable practice. Anyone who believes teaching and learning are key to sustainable change, including teachers, social activists, environmentalists, administrators and entrepreneurs, will find a lot of interest on the sites.

AUNE’s Experienced Educators program allows working teachers to earn a master’s degree while leading their busy professional lives. In the EFS concentration—the first such master’s degree specifically for working teachers—they learn how to make sustainability a theme in their classrooms. They may also choose to become curriculum specialists or sustainability coordinators with this concentration.

The Experienced Educators master’s degree program also offers these concentrations:
  • Next-Generation Learning Using Educational Technology
  • Teacher Leadership
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Problem-Based Learning Using Critical Skills
  • Principal Certification
