Keene, NH - On January 30, Antioch University New England and Keene State College will team up to present a live, interactive, webcast from Focus the Nation called The 2% Solution. The program will feature Stanford climate scientist Stephen Schneider, sustainability expert Hunter Lovins, green jobs pioneer Van Jones and youth climate leaders, for a discussion of global warming solutions. The webcast will run from 8-9 p.m. Before the webcast, from 7-8 p.m., New Hampshire State Senator Molly Kelly; Leigh Marthe, Community Representative for New Hampshire's U.S. representative Paul Hodes; and Antioch's Abi Abrash Walton, core faculty in the Environmental Advocacy and Organizing Program at Antioch University New England, will discuss the best means of communicating with politicians to help effect policy changes. This program is one of Antioch University New England's Focus the Nation events. Focus the Nation is an educational initiative that promotes civic engagement and focuses on global warming solutions. (www.focusthenation.org) Antioch will be a local event epicenter, teaming up with the Sierra Club and Keene State College to widen regional impact. The week-long series of events include lunchtime discussions and the inclusion of global warming topics in classroom curriculum during a national teach-in.
