Autism and Asperger's Exposition Open to the Public

Connect with the greater Autism/Asperger's community on April 5th. Local filmmaker Dan Habib's documentary 'Including Samuel' also to be screened.

Keene, NH - Antioch University New England's Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders Training will host an exposition on April 5 from noon to 2:00 p.m. The Autism and Asperger's Exposition is an opportunity for family members, individuals, professionals, and providers in the region to connect with the greater Autism and Asperger's community. This event is free and open to the public and will be held in the University's East Wing at 40 Avon Street in Keene.

Over 20 professional groups and businesses will display information and provide materials for attendees at the exposition and two films will be screened. The first film, Including Samuel, is a documentary by local filmmaker Dan Habib. It examines the educational and social inclusion of youth with disabilities. Free screenings will be at 12:15 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The second film, Autism and Law Enforcement Roll Call Briefing, explores critical law enforcement and first responder issues that affect the autism community. A 1:25 p.m. free screening is scheduled. A Certificate of Attendance for one contact hour will be given to attendees of Including Samuel.

Antioch University New England's Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders Training co-sponsors for the event include: Asperger's Association of New England, Autism Society of New Hampshire, Monadnock Developmental Services, New Hampshire Connections, and the Asperger's Study Group of Keene State College.

Exhibitors at the event include: Access, Inc., Autism Society of New Hampshire, Asperger's Study Group of Keene State College, Autism Respite Resource Outreach, Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation, Family Support Council, Forward Motion Coaching, Howda Hugs, Landmark College, New Hampshire Connections, New Hampshire Commission on ASD, New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation, Miracles in Motion, Parent-to-Parent of New Hampshire, Silver Lining Multimedia, Special Needs Support Group, and Psychotherapy and Expressive Arts.
