Description
Research and study of circadian rhythmicity and sleep physiology. Knowledge of disorders of circadian rhythmicity including jet lag, shift work disorder, and delayed sleep phase syndrome (night owl syndrome). Work combining basic knowledge about sleep physiology and circadian rhythms in application to clinical problems having to do with excessive daytime sleepiness, difficulty sleeping, and sleep that is chronically non-refreshing.
Qualifications
Dr. Gila Lindsley's PhD is in Physiological Psychology, with a focus on the sleep-wake dimension. She has been doing sleep research since 1978 and has been board certified as a sleep clinician since 1983. Her resume includes numerous original publications, reviews of other articles requested by a publisher in considering the article for publication, and text-book chapters in the general areas of sleep and circadian rhythms.
