Substantial experience creating and facilitating professional learning communities and critical friends groups to improve teaching and learning, including looking at student work, teacher work, and data collaboratively. Twelve years experience in working in and directing alternative high school programs for at-risk youth. Supports mindfulness practices for teachers and has ten years of study with Insight Meditation Society in New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Dr. Susan Dreyer Leon earned a EdD with a focus on alternative education and school reform. She is a national facilitator for the National School Reform Faculty/School Reform Initiative in training leaders for critical friends groups and implementing CFG's in schools. Twenty years experience with the Coalition of Essential Schools.
