What do we mean by sustainable? Are we talking about sustainable organizations? A healthy planet? Thriving communities? Socially responsible businesses? Or financially sound organizations? In our MBA program, we address all these topics and more. As a graduate of our program, you’ll be prepared to navigate the dynamics of sustainability at the team, organizational, regional, and global levels.
Businesses are more and more aware of their ecological and social impacts. They want managers and leaders who can effectively and strategically plan and implement initiatives that balance economic, environmental, and human sustainability. Organizations are seeking managers who can balance the needs of the current economic climate without compromising communities or the planet for future generations.
Lead with Values and Ethics
You can be one of those leaders, whose actions reflect their values and whose success reflects their ethics. Faculty and staff in AUNE’s MBA in Sustainability program are committed to a progressive business education that empowers that kind of leader. Acquire the people skills and financial strategies to create thriving businesses and nonprofits.
Students Learn in the Real World
Hands-on application of business skills is central to the MBA in Sustainability curriculum. As part of their coursework, teams of students take on consulting projects to help businesses solve sustainability challenges and present their findings to the clients. Students can participate in local, regional, and international field experiences to observe and network with leading sustainable businesses and nonprofits.
Our students participate in a rigorous MBA program and read, research, and discuss how sustainable practices are implemented in operations, human resources, finance, marketing, and strategic planning. Field experiences allow our students to test their theoretical understanding while having meaningful dialogue with leaders in sustainable business practices.
Alumni from AUNE’s MBA in Sustainability program stay connected with faculty and enrolled students. Their expertise and stories from the field help our current students to build stronger professional networks.
Students Make a Difference
Our MBA in Sustainability students govern our chapter of Net Impact, the international organization whose members are actively improving the world as leaders in corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The chapter:
- Hosts speakers, events and online conversations.
- Sends members to the annual Net Impact conference.
- Develops model corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as the Perpetual Food Pledge.
- Gathers community leaders to discuss important issues, such as workforce development for 25-to-35-year-olds.
