AUNE’s teacher education programs are grounded in a progressive philosophy of education. Working teachers, aspiring educators, and those with interests such as Waldorf education or special education will find a social justice approach and focus on practical experience relevant to today.
• MEd in Teacher Certification
Earn an MEd in Elementary, Early Childhood, or Holistic Special Education, with concentrations in Arts and Humanities and Science and Environmental Education. Our programs emphasize integrated learning to address the needs of the whole child.
• MEd for Working Teachers
The Experienced Educators program, designed as a flexible program for working professionals, offers seven concentrations: Educating for Sustainability, Next-Generation Learning Using Technology, Teacher Leadership, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Self-Designed, Problem-Based Learning Using Critical Skills, and Principal Certification.
• Waldorf Teacher Education
Our Waldorf teacher education programs, based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, are the only accredited Waldorf master’s programs in the country. They include MEd with state certification, an MEd without state certification, and a Waldorf certificate.
Our Department of Environmental Studies also offers an MEd in Science Teacher Certification
