For students

  • Reference librarians at ANE Library can help you with any research question including:
    • constructing searches in a particular database
    • doing searches and e-mailing results to you
    • how to get from search results to full text
    • framing, narrowing, or focusing your research inquiry
    • suggesting where to begin your research
  • When contacting a librarian for research help, be sure to include the following information:
    • Your name and program
    • What class is it for?
    • What exactly is the assignment?
    • Is there a population or age group that is important?
    • How large a project is it?
    • When must the project be completed?
  • When contacting us via email, you MUST use FirstClass. Email from external email addresses (i.e., hotmail, AOL, yahoo, etc) is routinely deleted as a security precaution. Also, using FirstClass identifies you as an authorized user of library services.

For faculty

  • Course Development
    • We encourage faculty to discuss class needs and assignments BEFORE the semester begins so we can gather materials and create customized support services for the special needs of a class.
    • Librarians can also assist faculty in researching current literature for ongoing and new courses.
  • In-Class Instruction
    • Librarians work in their faculty role in the classroom as well as individually with patrons.
    • Librarians will come to classes to provide support for individual assignments and research in general. They will also attend and/or instruct in classes addressing critical points in the development of theses and disseratations.
  • Library Class Support Pages
The library will prepare customized web pages to support individual classes. These pages may include links to important external and internal sites, database links and search strategies, etc.
