Services for Faculty and StaffServices for FacultyANE Library provides academic support services for faculty in all programs. We encourage all faculty, both new and veteran, to make appointments or stop in the library for a personal orientation to our services. Reviewing course needs with the librarians every semester will ensure that we have acquired all the materials students will need to successfully complete the course. The Chronicle of Higher EducationPrint copies of The Chronicle for the most recent two or three months are available in the library. The full text of past articles is also available through our subscription databases. Research SupportFaculty have access both on and off-campus (via password) to more than one hundred research databases and thousands of full text journals, in addition to an in-house collection of books, journals, and other materials selected specifically to support ANE’s academic programs. The library staff provides complete support for faculty research and publicaton efforts (e.g., document delivery, customized database searching, and copyright and publication information). Antioch librarians work with specific departments so that faculty and students receive consistent and individualized research support. Meet your librarian! Course ReservesThe library can identify and purchase items for class reserve, and set up materials on our in-house and electronic reserve system. Electronic Reserve may include links to class library support pages, any other web pages, text files, scanned images of documents, graphic or sound files, saved searches, etc. We encourage faculty to discuss class needs and assignments BEFORE the semester begins so we can gather in materials and create customized support services for the special needs of a class. In-Class InstructionLibrarians work in their faculty role in the classroom as well as individually with patrons. Librarians will come to classes to provide individualized support for particular class assignments. They will also attend and/or instruct in classes addressing critical points in the development of theses and dissertations. Interlibrary Loan/Document DeliveryFaculty may use all document delivery services to request items that suppport research and educational needs: books, chapters from books, articles, dissertations, DVDs, videos, etc. Articles and book chapters requested through Interlibrary Loan will be delivered to you online! RefWorksRefWorks is a bibliographic management program offered FREE to Antioch faculty, students, and staff. It’s a very useful tool for keeping your references organized, correctly formatting citations in your publications, and producing your bibliography in any citation style you choose -- including many journals’ specific styles! If you are writing a journal article, chances are that RefWorks can produce your reference list in that journal’s particular format! Collection DevelopmentWe encourage faculty to suggest additions to the collection. We will also assist in developing bibliographies of items to consider for purchase around topics of interest to faculty. Read ANE Library’s Collection Development Policy. Faculty PublicationsThe library purchases all faculty publications of which it is aware. We encourage faculty to notify us when articles or books have been accepted for publication so that we can acquire and highlight faculty work whenever possible. Audiovisual EquipmentThe library supports and circulates audiovisual equipment including but not limited to projector carts, TVs, VCRs, and laptop computers. All faculty must have a brief orientation on the equipment before the first use. Please get in touch with Emily Mason to make an appointment. FeedbackThe library staff continually strives to improve the services offered. Please feel free to provide feedback to us at any time: email the staff, use the Ask a Librarian! form, or stop by in person. | ||||
