WINTER RESEARCH ASSISTANT

We anticipate having two positions will be available to assist with roadside forest management research studies. This is a great opportunity to obtain professional experience.
Primary responsibility will be to assist in studies of roadside forest management. Duties will include: establishing plots, tree measurements, data entry, and possibly herbicide application. Positions require knowledge of plant identification, basic forest measurements, chainsaw experience, and ability to obtain or have a CT Pesticide Applicator Operational Certificate. Positions require ability to perform physical labor in the forest during winter, typing experience, and ability to follow directions and work independently.
These positions are durational from October 18, 2013 and may extend through April 17, 2014 (depending on
funding and work). The salary is $10.00/hour for a 35 hours/week (typically 8:00 am-3:30 pm, but may vary).
These positions involve work outdoors under field conditions. Candidates must have a valid driver's license. To
