Volunteer & Membership Coordinator

Sound Salmon Solutions (formerly known as the Stilly-Snohomish Fisheries Enhancement Task Force), a non-profit organizations dedicated to ensuring the future of salmon in the Stillaguamish, Snohomish, and Island County watersheds, is seeking a Volunteer & Membership Coordinator.

  1. Effective written and oral communication skills
  2. Strong interpersonal skills, an approachable personality
  3. Ability to organize and manage grass-roots and technology-based recruitment programs
  4. Ability to maintain accurate records and an attention to details
  5. Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Publisher; social networking software
  6. Minimum education required: Associate degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor degree preferred)
  7. Strong interest in the recovery of salmon, steelhead and their habitat
  8. Submit to and pass a background check for working with children and schools
  9. Valid driver license and dependable transportation are required
  10. Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus


A. Volunteer Coordination
  1. Conduct community-based, grassroots recruitment to provide volunteers for program events
  2. Coordinate volunteer event calendar and <br>
  3. Develop and assist in delivery of training and supervision of volunteers in the field
  4. Track and aggregate all volunteer inquiries and performance
  5. Solicit in-kind donations of supplies and food for volunteer-based events
  6. Coordinate volunteer recognition
  7. Act as project lead for small contracts
  8. Assist program staff with grant applications and reporting as needed
  9. Assist in budget development with program staff
B. Membership Coordination
  1. Conduct community-based, grassroots recruitment of new members
  2. Track and aggregate membership inquiries/purchases and report them quarterly
  3. Coordinate membership drives and annual renewal efforts
  4. Coordinate membership recognition and premiums, assist with member only special events
C. Miscellaneous
  1. Coordinate quarterly newsletter publication and distribution
  2. Work community outreach events and make public presentations as needed
  3. Work as an education specialist or habitat technician as needed
  4. Assist with development and refinement of recruitment, outreach and marketing materials
  5. Perform other tasks assigned by the Program Manager or Executive Director
