This full time position is responsible for the supervision of the VHS program, including administration, quality of care, program implementation, and clinical training and support to the VHS case work staff at sites in Bangor and Lewiston. The VHS supervisor will assist case managers in the delivery of direct services to veterans at the two sites and in street outreach efforts; maintain relationships with VHS partners and collaborators, establish productive relationships with the veterans human services systems and attend community meetings and events pertaining to veterans services. This position will require regular statewide travel, including frequent program trainings and meetings in Portland.
MSW preferred or related degree with experience in casework and working with homeless populations, demonstrated supervisory ability, thorough knowledge of theory and practice of casework, knowledge and understanding of mainstream resources for a diverse population, sound crisis intervention skills, an understanding of and positive regard for consumers, understanding of low-barrier service challenges, and able to establish good boundaries. The ability to work as a leader and member of the VHS team in either crowded and noisy settings or performing street outreach is vital. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are a must.
