Team Coordinator, New Vision for Agriculture Initiative

The World Economic Forum USA is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging industry leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Incorporated as a non-profit business league (approved §501(c)6 of the IRS code) and based in New York, the World Economic Forum USA is impartial and not-for-profit; it is tied to no political, partisan or national interests. It is the North American affiliate of the World Economic Forum, a non-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland, under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Government.

The New Vision for Agriculture initiative is a flagship project of the World Economic Forum USA which works to achieve food security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity through agriculture. The initiative works with global, regional and national leaders to promote collaboration and best practice in agricultural development. The initiative convenes stakeholders, facilitates partnerships, promotes exchange of best practices, and engages in thought leadership and policy dialogues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the team’s administrative and coordination support
  • Serve as the team lead on organizing and delivering high-quality, high-level events
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all internal teams, such as the Industry, Regional and Events teams
  • Coordinate content and distribution of materials and tools, and ensure consistent, quality communications with Partners and other constituencies
  • Develop and use the Forum database for event management and data entry
  • Organize meetings and group conference calls within the team and the organization, and externally
  • Coordinate the production process of meeting reports and other publications
  • Support the Senior Director by organizing business trips and filing expenses
  • Lead ad hoc administrative projects as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or another relevant subject
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in event management, administration or coordination role
  • Have experience working with teams, preferably in an international or multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Solid command of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Self-starting, flexible and customer-oriented team player, with excellent communication skills, willing to work in a highly demanding environment and ready to juggle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel internationally several times a year
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English; proficiency in a second language would be an asset
