Teacher Naturalist II

Mass Audubon’s North River Wildlife Sanctuary is seeking an energetic and engaging individual to fulfill the duties of Teacher Naturalist II (TNII) to help us continue to build our year-round outreach to adults and school groups. Responsiblities include leading adult programs, supporting visitor services, and providing assistance for in-school programming. Must be able to work some evenings and most Saturdays. This position is currently 32 hour/week with opportunity for future growth as programs develop.


  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, earth science, environmental studies, or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting educational programs or Master’s degree in education, biological, earth science, environmental studies, or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to relate to a diverse range of people.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and teaching environmental education programs.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently, as well as be an active team member. Requires First Aid and CPR certification upon hire, a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and successful completion of CORI and SORI.
  • Specialization in local flora, fauna and conservation issues strongly preferred.
