Community Access, Inc. (CA) is a progressive not-for-profit organization that for the last 40 years has helped thousands of people diagnosed with psychiatric disabilities live lives of their own choosing in the community. Our primary mission is to identify needs and create solutions for homeless people with psychiatric disabilities. Our programs include over 1000 units of supportive and transitional housing in three boroughs, the Howie T. Harp Peer Advocacy Center, East Village Accessa PROS program, and the Art Collective.
Community Access is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Social Worker to work in our Supportive Housing Program located in Washington Heights, NY. This is a full-time position with an annual salary in the mid 40’s plus an excellent benefits package.
The Senior Social Worker is responsible for providing clinical supervision to the site’s service coordinators and ensuring that quality services are provided to tenants. The Senior Social Worker will carry a caseload as needed, provide assessment and referral services to tenants in crisis and assist in crisis intervention and conflictresolution.
The essential job functions include but are not limited to providing recovery oriented support services and outreach to assigned program participants, as defined by program and contractual requirements; working with senior support staff to assure that well integrated services are available for tenants with multiple needs; providing oversight that services and records meet or exceed agency’s and funders’ standard for overall quality and frequency of services; developing and assisting in implementing service plans determined by goals of program participants, including reviewing service plans with program participants, identifying progress and revising plans, as needed; carrying a partial caseload; assisting the Program Director in conducting weekly team meetings and planning program events; providing assessment and referral services to tenants in crisis and assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution, etc.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in providing case management services; previous supervisory experience, preferred; knowledge of psychiatric disabilities, young adults and substance abuse; Master’s of Social Work (MSW) preferred; must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH); commitment to recovery oriented practice; bilingual Spanish-speaking, preferred.
