PART-TIME POSITION, 30 TO 38 HOURS PER WEEK
TIME-LIMITED POSITION: 6 – 9 MONTHS FROM HIRE
Exempt / Union - Grade 18
$32.64/hr to $48.11/hr ($64,447 to $95,073 FTE)
Reporting to the VP: Jewish Education and Engagement, this position is responsible for directing the planning process for a community-wide summer Jewish Teen Internship Program at Los Angeles Not-for-profit Organizations. The goal of this time limited position is to produce a written comprehensive plan and guidebook of implementation including timeline, roles/responsibilities, budget, evaluation, etc.
Explore and establish community desired outcomes/agenda for the Jewish Teen Internship Program at Los Angeles Not-for-profit Organizations. Research teen internship programs across the country. Set criteria for inclusion of potential internship sites and identify potential partner organizations across Federation's three strategic areas that would fit the criteria. Research and engage community members in discussions to determine which geographic area to launch the pilot program. Determine what communication/training/supervision is needed for supervisors at internship sites. Determine the optimal amount of time that an internship is valuable and worthwhile for an intern and an organization. Create a curriculum for the Jewish learning and leadership training aspects of the program. Develop an application for organizations and interns. Develop a budget for the program. Develop a financial model (e.g., whether parents would pay for internship, whether to offer incentives to encourage organizations to participate).. Participate in fundraising activities as directed.
Be available to supervisor for additional assignments as required. Other duties may be assigned as needed including assisting with the campaign.
Education, Skill and Experience Requirements
Masters Degree preferred in Jewish Education, or related field. Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in Jewish education or related field required. Comprehensive understanding of Jewish educational landscape in Los Angeles. Strong writing skills and experience in program development and implementation.
